Mandalay

Mandalay is a second largest city located on the eastern edge of the Irrawaddy River, Myanmar. This city was once the capital of the Kingdom of Burma. In addition the city is also an important center of economic, religious and cultural in Myanmar. Most of the monks live in the region and beyond. Beauty of the old buildings relics of the past can be found here. Among them are Kuthodaw Pagoda, Kyauktawgyi Pagoda, Atumashi Kyaung and many other interesting places to visit.

Things to see

One of the famous tourist attraction in the city is Mandalay Hill which is a hill where you can freely see the beautiful view of the city and the village from the top of the hill. As well as many buildings, pagodas, ancient temples, or you can see from here. One of them you can check is Kuthodaw Pagoda built by King Mindon in 1857. There lies the world's largest Buddhist here. Or beauty Kyauktawgyi Pagoda located on the south side of Mandalay Hiil and unique wood carvings contained in Shwenandaw Monastery. You can also see the remnants of the beauty of the Mandalay Palace which was once a royal palace complex.

Yaedagon Taung is one of the attractions that you must visit in this city. In addition to offering the beauty of the waterfall, you can also do the climbing sport here. One of the markets which can be visited for shopping is Zay Cho Market. In addition to daily necessities, there are also many interesting souvenirs you can buy in this place. Visiting and hanging out to the zoo also seem exciting to do. The zoo you can visit with family or friends is Yadanabon Zoological Gardens. You can also try Shwe Yin Aye, a kind of soup with additional fruit jelly and coconut milk. Taste also Kawyei Khao Swe, a kind of noodles containing duck curry served with additional broth and eggs. For you fried rice lovers, you can taste the Htamin Jaw, a Myanmar-style fried rice served with boiled peas added.
