Canberra Airport lands Qatar, Singaport airlines, eyes NZ

Canberra Airport is courting international airlines to fly passengers to Auckland as the regional hub looks to expand its network through New Zealand and beyond to North and South America.


This week airport management welcomed the second international airline to announce services to and from Canberra when Qatar Airways said it would begin flying to the nation’s capital by 2018.


“They could literally start operations here next week if they wanted,” Canberra Airport managing director Stephen Byron told The Australian.
