Passenger traffic growth rate slows for Asian airlines

Passenger growth rates for Asia-Pacific airlines slipped more than 4% in January year-over-year, according to the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA), showing that the strong post-financial crisis recovery has not been maintained in the region.
"œA combined total of 22.4 million international passengers flew on [regional] carriers in January, 4.6% more than the same month last year," AAPA said.
However, 2014 saw a considerably higher growth rate, with an 8.7% increase giving almost double the expansion factor over the same period "“ in a month which is traditionally higher than the average due to Chinese New Year travelers.
