Hong Kong Airlines celebrates inaugural flight to Sapporo

December 19 marked the inauguration of Hong Kong Airlines' five-time weekly flight service between Hong Kong and Sapporo, Japan. To commemorate the official launch of this new route, Hong Kong Airlines has held celebrations at Hong Kong International Airport and destination airport.

Before departure, models dressed in traditional Kimono presented every passenger with an inaugural flight certificate and souvenir in gratitude for their support to the Hong Kong-Sapporo route, impressing them with the charm of Japan in advance. The flight touched down at Hokkaido New Chitose Airport at 17:30 local time on December 19. The passengers and flight crew received a warm welcome from the Airlines' local staff, representatives from Hokkaido Government and Tourism Organization. To many passengers' surprise, cute and lovely "Kyun Chun" "“ mascot for Hokkaido tourism campaign was also there, giving them hospitable greetings and pretty souvenirs which marks a fantastic start of the journey.

Li Dianchun, Commercial Director of Hong Kong Airlines, said: "The route receives overwhelming response from the public and widespread popularity among travelers since its tickets have been opened for sale. Coincides with Hokkaido ski season, we believe the new route will provide our passengers with more travel options especially in this winter." To further encourage travelers visiting Sapporo, Hong Kong Airlines now exclusively offers Business Class passengers flying to Sapporo with free checked baggage allowance for ski equipment, allowing them to embrace a snowy Hokkaido winter and enjoy carefree skiing experience in Japan.
