Dubai's Emirates airline suspends flights to Peshawar

Dubai's Emirates had suspended flights to and from Peshawar in an apparent security concerns a day after Taliban gunmen killed at least 132 students and nine staff members in an attack on an army-run school in the city.

"œEmirates can confirm that we are suspending our flights to Peshawar for operational reasons," the airline said in a brief statement.

"œThis will take effect immediately (from 16 December)."

Flights are suspended until further notice and passengers will be rebooked on alternative Emirates flights, the statement said.

"œWe apologise for any inconvenience caused. Customers can also check emirates.com for the latest flight status," it added.

"œWe remain committed to our customers in Pakistan and hope to resume services to Peshawar as soon as operational conditions allow us to do so."

The airline's flights to other points in Pakistan - Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, and Sialkot - will continue as scheduled.
