Air Astana inaugurates direct flight from Astana to Bangkok

ir Astana, Kazakhstan's award winning flag carrier, inaugurated a new direct flight from Astana to Bangkok. The service initially operates twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays and is additional to the existing daily direct service from Almaty to Bangkok. New Boeing 767-300ER aircraft are operated on both routes and are configured with 30 Business Class and 193 Economy class seats. The service from Almaty to Bangkok was first launched in 2003 and since then 430,000 passengers have flown on the route.

The new service marks another significant step in developing the network of international services connecting Astana, the young and vibrant capital of Kazakhstan with the capital of Thailand and onwards to destinations including Baku, Beijing, Bishkek, London, Omsk, St Petersburg and Tashkent, which have been introduced since 2012.

International Business Class passengers and Nomad Club Gold members travelling from Astana can enjoy the comforts and facilities of Air Astana's exclusive "Shanyrak" Lounge, which was opened in the VIP wing of the departures hall earlier this year.
