DOHA: Qatar Airways (QA) yesterday launched its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft on the Vienna route.

The increase in demand in the region and the airline's commitment to the Austrian market have resulted in the launch of the Dreamliner on the Vienna-Doha route bringing an additional capacity of 92 percent per week compared to the current A320. QA is the first to commence with a scheduled 787 Dreamliner service to Vienna.

"œAfter 10 years of operating to Vienna, we are delighted to introduce our flagship aircraft, the 787 Dreamliner, which will not only offer an increase in capacity on the route but will also redefine in-flight experience of our passengers travelling to Doha and beyond," said CEO Akbar Al Baker.

"œPassengers from Austria can now fly to more than 140 destinations worldwide with QA via Hamad International Airport."

QA has 254 custom-made seats across its 787 Business and Economy Class cabins with specially designed interiors. Business Class is configured in a 1"“2"“1 set-up with 22 seats, while Economy has a 232 seating capacity in a 3"“3"“3 layout. All seats in Business Class are fully reclinable.

The airline's 787s are the world's first fully connected Dreamliners with wireless facilities for passengers to remain in touch with friends and colleagues on the ground through the Internet and SMS mobile texting across Business and Economy cabins.

The 787 Dreamliners complement ultra-luxurious customer service and experience QA delivers to its passengers.
