Jakarta. Twenty-four-year-old Jessica Tarore has traveled to Lombok, Makassar, Yogyakarta and Singapore "” all thanks to the fleet of budget airlines in Southeast Asia's largest economy, tirelessly wooing travelers with cheaper air fares.


"˜"I use [low-cost airlines] wherever I go. I think it has really encouraged people to travel more, although there is a trade-off between price and service quality," Jessica told the Jakarta Globe.


Jessica, an employee at a Jakarta-based travel agency, is a snapshot of most middle-class Indonesian travelers who rely heavily on budget carriers for their travels.
